Buttons and Links and.....the dreaded SHIPPING!!
Well I guess we are officially live!!!! Yeah!!! We have working buttons and shipping costs (oh boy!!) and links and stuff.............yee haa!!! Well anyhow...........I now have a fully functional website. I am still concerned about the shipping costs. In the US it's pretty clear but I really want to be accessible to at least other English speaking countries.....this is where it gets dicey. Shipping costs sky rocket once the package leaves the US. Even Canada gets hit. To anyone out there who ACTUALLY made it to my blog!! and ACTUALLY reads this!....apart from you Jerry!!, any advice or any of your experiences would help. USPS, UPS, FEDEX?? which is best for international? $18 to Canada, $32 to the rest of the world OK?....and $7.95 US? SHIPPING!!!!!! Yuchhhhh!!! Wish I could just give them away. I love my charts!

Check or Money Order
Well....we are held up on the shopping cart.....but it won't be long. The check or money order is a bit of a snag. Jerry says, "Who writes checks or money orders nowadays!" I say, "Plenty of people and they are our customers too! We WILL serve them as well!" That said....it's NOT that simple! Paypal covers a shopping cart for credit cards and paypal accounts but NOT for checks or money orders. So we need to figure out how to deal with that. Believe me it's a bit tricky. Anyhow folks....for those of you check or money users....we WILL prevail!

A Moment in time
For the past couple of days I have had a little diversion from my charts. Jerry made a clock gadget to put on his google page and it got me thinking of a design for the face and then I thought it would make a cool teashirt for us Astro Geeks! I think it's REALLY COOL! Jerry says it's a good thing I like my designs, sort of like a chef who likes his own soup! Anyhow I sent of some previews of the design and am patiently waiting for the response. Even if it doesn't really grab anybody I'm going to make one just for me! This WILL be an item on the site....oh yes!!

The business of business cards
Here I am again back on my blog, my very own blog! Today I made some business cards....FINALLY!! I'm gong to a meet up group in Austin tomorrow night and was determined I would turn up with business cards. I don't know how many times I've been asked, "Do you have a card?" and my response would be, " Ah...not yet!"
Well NOW, NOW the answer will be, "YES!!! I certainly DO!!"
We'll see how that goes!

Today Jerry did a whole bunch of work on the check out process for the web. It is truly inspiring to watch him work. I am learning a whole bunch about reading code. The way he makes connections in his head as to how to do things is quite remarkable to me and I am very thankful to him for his contribution. Anything I ask he tries to do and for the most part does it....then he makes suggestions to make it better and does it. I am SO lucky. Together we really complement eachother.....oh we cut down a Christmas tree today in Texas. That was fun.

Botanicals - Aquarius
Today I am working on the artwork for my Botanical series art charts. The artwork is going well but slowly as I need to draw lots of colorful orchids for the template. I know in my heart this is going to be a wonderful piece when I am finished, but during the drawing process I always wonder just what the finished artwork will look like. I start out with a plan in my head, but as I begin to create it, it starts to take on a life of it's own and just seems to grow into something better than I imagined.
